Petja Ivanova is an artist working across installation, computation, biomaterial processes, and engagements with the living world. Her work examines how bodies come into relation with land, and how forms of knowing take shape within an Eastern European context marked by histories of rupture that continue to affect both territory and subjectivity.
Informed by feminist and decolonial thought, her practice questions Western epistemologies that separate body and environment. She develops a geo-somatic approach in which perception arises through relation and material contact. Knowledge, here, does not precede experience but takes form through sustained attention to what is felt and encountered, to what hurts, allowing the memory of place to become legible through the body.
