To ensure you can get to the KOSMOS Festival and back home safely and stress-free on August 29, you’ll find here—updated regularly—all the important information about getting there and transportation options around the festival. Plan your trip as early as possible and use public transportation or a bike if you can. That way, you’ll arrive at the festival relaxed and get home safely.
Arriving by Car
No dedicated parking spaces are designated for the festival. We therefore recommend that you travel by public transportation whenever possible.
Arriving by Public Transportation
Bus & Train (CVAG)
On the day of the event, CVAG will provide an enhanced service schedule to ensure that sufficient capacity is available on the city’s public transit system. In particular, night service will be expanded.
Service frequency on the night network will be increased at 12:15 a.m.:
- Bus routes N11 through N18 will run every 30 minutes at 11:45 p.m., 12:15 a.m., and 12:45 a.m., and then at the usual hourly intervals.
- Route N18 will run to the Chemnitz-Center during peak hours from 11:45 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. and will be rerouted via Promenadenstraße and Georgstraße during this time.
- Route 82 will run every 30 minutes until 1:00 a.m.
Trains (MRB)
Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn services will also be expanded for the festival season:
C11:
- Additional trip on the night of August 30, 2026, at 1:00 a.m., departing from Chemnitz Zentralhaltestelle via Altchemnitz to Stollberg
C13:
- Extra service on the night of August 30, 2026, at 1:00 a.m., departing from Chemnitz Zentralhaltestelle via Technopark to Einsiedel
PlusBus 526:
- Starting at 11:38 a.m., additional service to the Richard-Hartmann-Platz stop directly at the festival grounds in Chemnitz
- Hourly service starting at 3:12 p.m. from Limbach-Oberfrohna to Chemnitz and starting at 4:33 p.m. from Chemnitz to Limbach-Oberfrohna
- Last trip at 12:54 a.m. from Chemnitz, Richard-Hartmann-Platz, to Limbach-Oberfrohna
RE3:
- Additional train at 12:35 a.m. from Chemnitz Central Station to Dresden Central Station
RB30:
- Additional train at 1:00 a.m. from Chemnitz Central Station to Dresden Central Station
- Additional train at 12:55 a.m. from Chemnitz Central Station to Zwickau Central Station
RB45:
- Additional service at 1:08 a.m. from Chemnitz Central Station to Döbeln Central Station
RE6:
- A long train will be used for the 10:31 p.m. departure from Chemnitz Central Station to Leipzig Central Station. Due to insufficient platform length, this service will not stop at Leipzig-Liebertwolkwitz. Passengers traveling to or from Leipzig-Liebertwolkwitz should use the provided minibus replacement service from Bad Lausick via Leipzig-Liebertwolkwitz to Leipzig Central Station. The following applies to this minibus: Groups are asked to register in advance by calling the MRB service hotline: 0341 231 898 288.
- Additional trip with a long-formation train at 12:29 a.m. from Chemnitz to Leipzig
- Additional trip with a standard train at 12:57 a.m. from Chemnitz to Leipzig – also stops at Belgershain and Leipzig-LiebertwolkwitzChemnitz Central Station
From the Zentralhaltestelle, you can reach Chemnitz Central Station:
- on foot in about 10 minutes
- or by bus lines 22, 23, 31 & 32
After-show parties
You can also reach the after-show parties at the clubs via public transit:
- Club Atomino & transit: Tram 2 Bernsdorf & 3 Technopark, as well as Bus 52 & 82, both at the Bernsbachplatz stop
- Spinnerei: Bus 52, Bruno-Salzer-Straße stop
- LOKOMOV: Tram 5 Gablenz, Tschaikowskistraße stop
