A Future for Our Industrial Region—Active, Participatory, and Fair!
Panel - Transformation
The transformation of industry is not some distant future issue, but has long been a reality in the workplaces of Southwest Saxony. More than 450 companies with approximately 135,000 employees along the automotive value chain are facing profound upheaval. The Initiative for the Transformation of the Southwest Saxony Automotive Region (ITAS) does not intend to merely manage this change, but to actively shape it. After all, transformation is not merely a technical process. It is a social debate about locations, skills development, working conditions, and employee participation. IG Metall places the employees’ perspective at the center of this discussion. On the panel, we will discuss with colleagues from various companies what is needed to ensure that decisions regarding this transformation are not made over the heads of the employees.
