Body Talks—Our Bodies Tell Stories
Workshops oder Mitmachformate - Inklusion

“Body Talks” is an open, participatory dance workshop that views the body as a universal language. At its core is the encounter between a diverse group of people with different cultural backgrounds, experiences, and life realities.
The workshop creates a space where movement emerges from exchange. Through simple prompts such as “What movement reminds you of your origins or home?” or “How does your body express joy, feeling like an outsider, or connection?” individual forms of physical expression emerge, which are shared and woven together into a common language of movement.
“Body Talks” sees itself as a space for encounter where people grow closer to one another and their realities become visible. The goal is to build community and move away from the notion of isolated individuals in a shared city toward a connected social body that integrates differences.
An important part of the project is the conscious experience of emotions in the body. Even difficult or painful memories are given space. In moments of mindfulness, these can be physically recalled, held, and lived through movement—not to get stuck in them, but to transform and let them go.
Different cultural influences converge in the space and are physically explored. This creates a process in which diversity is not explained, but experienced.
The workshop can culminate in a shared closing movement. The focus is not on the result, but on the shared experience of closeness, difference, and connection. No prior dance experience is required.
“Body Talks” invites participants to let the body speak about what connects us, what has caused pain, and what is ready to be released.
