Chemnitz Children's University: Science Takes Hold in Schools

The Chemnitz Children’s University gives children ages seven to twelve the opportunity to learn about science and university-level learning in a vivid and entertaining way. Normally, the young students take their seats in a lecture hall at Chemnitz University of Technology and experience what a real lecture is like.

At KOSMOS, Chemnitz University of Technology offers a brief glimpse into the Children’s University concept and demonstrates how scientific topics can be presented in a child-friendly way. Together with children from a Chemnitz school, visitors can experience the questions young people have about science and research and learn how curiosity, a spirit of discovery, and interest in pursuing higher education later on can be sparked at an early age.
