DON’T WORRY - Exploring Worries and Hopes Through the Relationship Between Object and Material
Workshops oder Mitmachformate - Transformation
What do you do to keep your worries—which sometimes seem so big—in check? What gives you hope?
The starting point for our workshop is the memory of those little worry dolls that some of you may still remember from your childhood. Tiny figures to whom you entrust your worries before going to sleep, placing them under your pillow so the worry dolls can carry them away. But what actually happens to them? Where do they go? Or are they transformed?
As part of our research for an object theater piece, we’d like to engage in a dialogue with you. The workshop is designed to be a safe space where personal experiences can be shared and, at the same time, connected to collective, societal issues. In a group setting, we’ll use the objects and materials we’ve provided to explore the associations, memories, and feelings they evoke in us. How does something feel in our hands? What do we associate it with? What stories or thoughts come to mind? You’re also welcome to bring your own objects that you associate with your worries or hopes.
Afterward, you can get creative and make your own little worry dolls. These can serve as little companions, listeners, and carriers of your thoughts or memories—reminding you of what gives you hope and that you’re not alone with your worries.
For the hands-on part, we’ll provide a selection of materials for you to work with. You’re also welcome to bring your own materials, of course.
