Growing Up Without Putting Others Down
Talk - Transformation
How can we confidently claim our place without belittling others in the process? This session invites an open discussion on precisely this question.
The focus is on the idea that personal growth, strength, and self-confidence do not have to come at the expense of others. Using various examples from everyday life—including those involving women and men—we will explore how often comparisons or a “us versus them” mindset shape our interactions. This is not about downplaying existing inequalities or the oppression of women in the past and present. On the contrary: standing up for one’s own rights and needs is important. At the same time, the question arises as to whether this can be achieved without devaluing others—because true progress arises where mutual respect and cooperation become possible.
Together, we will explore why people sometimes tend to speak ill of or devalue others, and what personal fears, doubts, or insecurities may lie behind such behavior. The goal is to raise awareness of the power that lies in turning our gaze inward and taking responsibility for our own thoughts and reactions.
Everyone who feels drawn to this topic and would like to contribute their perspectives, experiences, or questions to a respectful exchange is invited. For despite—or perhaps precisely because of—our differences, we can learn from one another and grow together.
