Language is an emotional beast. It moves instinctively through its recurring patterns and unique rhythms—and that is precisely what makes it difficult to fully understand what others are trying to tell us. The rhythm of our sentences—like the sound of cars passing by on the street—can reveal whether we live in the same reality as the people closest to us.
