Lara Ermer – Everyone against everyone

Society
🗓️  Saturday 04:30 PM - 05:30 PM

Have you had an argument today? No? Then it's about time! Lara Ermer wants to restore the joy of arguing and blow up current debates with arguments from 245 psychological studies.
There are constant conflicts, the world has somehow become restless, and even with your best friend and Aunt Susanne, you suddenly can't get along anymore? Lara Ermer advises: Please don't bury your head in the sand, but instead charge full steam ahead into the next argument! Suppressed anger is evidently not good for us; a little tiff can act as a release valve. And if we're going to throw ourselves into the arena, why not be right for once? That's why the author turns to the power of facts and psychological studies, providing knockout arguments right away: Is society on the verge of completely falling apart, and is polarization greater than ever? Well, not really. A majority of people still align with 'moderate' positions. The more extreme fringes on the left and right remain in the minority – they just like to discuss so loudly that it's hard to ignore them. Maybe we shouldn't just surrender the field to them without a fight, and at the same time do something for our mental health.
In the show for her book 'Everyone Against Everyone,' we get knockout arguments and psychological facts that help us survive the next family gathering, watch the evening news without our pulse skyrocketing, and simply move through life more calmly. In doing so, Ermer doesn't just give a dry reading, but uses her years of stage experience to read, narrate, and entertain with all the tricks of the trade.

Lara Ermer
Lara Ermer (born 1996) is an author, presenter, and comedienne. With a great sense of humor, she makes complex topics pointedly accessible. Her clear view of people and her passion for questioning them were skills she acquired during her psychology studies. Instead of continuing her career path as a psychologist, after earning her bachelor's degree, she preferred to fully shift her talent to the stage rather than the therapy couch. Ermer's first book 'An Open Book – About Ideal Bodies, Perfect Sex, and Other Myths' was published in 2021 and became an unexpected success. In 2024, she achieved a widely noticed social media hit on the topic of dick pics together with entertainer Bodo Wartke. Lara Ermer is regularly featured on TV and radio as well as in podcasts and other online formats. For her work, she has been awarded, among other accolades, the German Cabaret Sponsorship Award 2024.
