Salsatón Kosmos 2026: Community Dance Contest for Everyone

The Salsatón Kosmos 2026 is a vibrant, inclusive dance competition that celebrates the diversity of the city of Chemnitz. It’s a place where Latin American rhythms, community, joy, and cultural openness come together. The competition is open to people of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and levels of dance experience—because the Salsatón isn’t just about winning, but about creating a vibrant, warm atmosphere together.
The event consists of three dance rounds, during which registered couples dance for 10–15 minutes each. Between rounds, the community fills the dance floor: the audience dances freely and becomes an active part of the competition, turning the Salsatón into a true space for connection. A jury evaluates technique, creativity, style, musicality, interaction with the audience, as well as energy and expression—but above all, the focus is on having fun.
The Salsatón is organized by Noqanchis‑Zusammenstehen e.V., AMISTAD e.V., and AGIUA e.V.—three organizations committed to cultural diversity, participation, and social cohesion. Through music, dance, and exchange, a space is created where differences unite rather than divide. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro—everyone is welcome to dance, celebrate, and help shape this special moment in the Chemnitz scene.
A musical highlight is the DJ, who draws the audience onto the dance floor with powerful beats.
