Shake it off - for an equal online culture

Media play a significant role in shaping our perception of gender roles and identities. This applies to movies, advertising, or gaming, but also and especially in the current era, increasingly important – for social media. How do modern portrayals differ from old stereotypes? What has remained the same? How are the clichés and generic representations evolving in the digital world?

We aim to address all these questions and many more at the event. Together, we want to examine the evolution of role models, engage in discussions, share experiences, and consider how future developments might look in order to overcome stereotypes. In collaboration with the Sociocultural Center Subbotnik Chemnitz, we wish to approach this topic.
