Smell as Migrant Memory - X3: pp Meets Tschuschkopek

Smell is a memory you cannot control.
In this sensory-political intervention, Petja Ivanova brings the Tschuschkopek—a small Bulgarian pepper oven, an unassuming invention from the era of socialist scarcity and a symbol of everyday ingenuity and collective improvisation—to Chemnitz.
Together with the participants, peppers are roasted, peeled, and seasoned with garlic, herbs, and vinegar.
The unmistakable scent of the Chushkopek becomes the medium of a shared yet uneasy sense of belonging—somewhere between home and yet not home—and a question simmers:
What remains when origin circulates only as an aroma?
