Timetable & numerous additional program items released

Over 250 program items from the fields of music, society, art, sports, and business have been confirmed for the festival. During the three days of the festival, around 70 locations will open their doors – including for the first time decentralized satellites throughout the city area. More than 150 initiatives, associations, and companies are participating and will showcase their social commitment in a variety of showcases.

From June 13 to 15, 2025, the KOSMOS Chemnitz will be a highlight of the European Capital of Culture year. Today, four weeks before the event, numerous additional music acts and program items from society & economy, sports, and art were announced.

New this year: You can register on this website and create your own timetable. Due to production reasons, individual times and locations may still change.

Additional program items, still secret music acts, and content surprises will be continuously added up to the KOSMOS.

Admission to all program items is free of charge again this year free of charge. A few select contents, such as the theater performances "Goldstück" by the theater collective Pièrre.Vers and parts of the conference POPxKOSMOS, require free pre-registration due to limited capacity.

TOPICS

This year, the KOSMOS program is divided into five thematic areas:

From pop formats to electro streaming to experimental stage - various music-showcases present the musical diversity of Chemnitz, Germany, and Europe.

In workshops, panels, exhibitions, and interventions, numerous formats are dedicated to the questions that move our society: “How do we want to live together?” “How can inclusion be successful?” “What is needed for a European urban community?” The various formats are equally discussion-friendly and participatory, but also entertaining and experimental.

Visual and performative art forms in public spaces – including installations, exhibitions, and theater in an urban setting.

Local clubs and national initiatives present a comprehensive sports program, from accessible participation opportunities, to new forms of exercise, to basketball tournaments on the new court in Konkordiapark.

Companies and initiatives create participatory spaces in the field of Economy, present visions of the future, and invite discussion on our societal development.

The uniqueness and quality of KOSMOS are made visible not least by the cross-genre linking of content: political talks in the restaurant, dancing at the street intersection, a message-in-a-bottle post office in the castle pond, and much more.
