Bartholomäus Laffert

I have been working as a freelance reporter for various German- and English-language media outlets (including SPIEGEL, Deutschlandfunk, SWR, WOZ, and Deutsche Welle) for nearly ten years and am a member of the Selbstlaut Collective. My work focuses on reporting from crisis and (post-)conflict zones. In recent years, I have conducted research in the Mediterranean, Sudan, Syria, and northern Iraq, among other places. In 2019, I co-founded the Selbstlaut Collective: as part of our annual research project, we are focusing this year on AI in war and defense startups in Germany.
