Clara Fuhrmann

Clara Fuhrmann is a resident in psychiatry, a freelance artist, a wrestler, and is conducting research on the history of psychiatry as part of her doctoral dissertation.

Her artistic and scholarly work explores women’s emancipation and a feminist perspective on the history of medicine. For example, she served as a dramaturg for the feminist theater production “Hysteria” (Leipziger Cammerspiele), created the performance “MalJAM” about the medieval Cathar sect, and is researching the development of hysteria in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As a passionate wrestler, she most recently also developed the fast-paced, badass competitive performance “ScumBagBitches.”
