Dr. Uta Bretschneider
Cultural studies scholar, sociologist
Dr. Uta Bretschneider is a cultural studies scholar and sociologist. After holding various positions in academia and the museum world, she has served as director of the Center for the Future of German Unity and European Transformation in Halle (Saale) since May 2026.
Her research focuses on: the period of transformation, everyday culture in the GDR, and the history of rural areas.
