Ralf-Uwe Beck is a theologian, civil rights activist, and author. He has his roots in the subversive environmental movement of the GDR and, following reunification, served as deputy federal chair of BUND for ten years. For 25 years, he has been committed to democracy, advocating for modern electoral law and direct democracy. He is the spokesperson for the board of “Mehr Demokratie e. V.” In 2015, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
