Grew up in Zwickau, the “car city,” surrounded by a wealth of post-socialist industrial ruins.

For the past 15 years, he has been traveling with his camera through the forgotten architectural monuments of the “New Federal States,” exploring the intersection of built history and the aesthetics of decaying spaces.

Founded the Industrie.Kultur.Ost network, one of the largest volunteer-run platforms for industrial culture in Germany, featuring the largest database of historic industrial architecture.

Serves on the board of the “Tuchfabrik Werdau” Foundation, the Saxony Monument Council, the “Saxon Spinning Mills” Working Group, and the Central German City Forum

Various repurposing and preservation initiatives, e.g., Palla Works in Glauchau, Hunnert Factory in Hormersdorf, Evans Factory in Siebenhöfen, Schneeberg Corset Factory, Robotron Cafeteria in Dresden, Martin-Hoop Shaft IV in Zwickau, and many more.
