Sophie Meuresch

Sophie Meuresch (born in 1994 in Braunschweig) is a visual artist and lives in Leipzig. She works with photography, video, and performance. Her works explore themes of repetition, approximation, and the performative. She places a particular focus on the portrait and the process of image formation.

She also explores her artistic questions in collaborative workshops with young people and adults.

Meuresch studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (B.A.), at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (Erasmus), at the National Institute of Design in Gandhinagar (exchange), and at the HGB Leipzig (Diploma) in Fine Arts. Her works are exhibited nationally and internationally. In 2026, she is a KUNSTFONDS_scholarship recipient.
