Tenzyn Zöchbauer

Tenzyn Zöchbauer has been the Executive Director of Tibet Initiative Germany since 2020. She studied journalism and communication studies as well as international development at the University of Vienna. Her work focuses on human rights in Tibet, transnational repression, international advocacy, and political communication. Under her leadership, Tibet Initiative Germany has expanded its work on environmental and climate protection through the “Blue Tibet” campaign, raised public awareness of the situation of Tibetan children in Chinese forced boarding schools, and launched the Coalition Against Transnational Repression in Germany. In 2024 and 2025, she was recognized by Table.Media as one of the “100 Most Influential Figures in the China Scene.”
