Start with a Friend brings people together—in one-on-one tandems and local communities. We facilitate meaningful engagement and create spaces where everyone can support one another through education, participation, and empowerment.

Our vision is a society of immigrants where we actively embrace our diversity. Everyone feels at home and has an equal say in shaping our future.

To get there, we need:

Encounters that foster appreciative, respectful, and empathetic interaction.

Encounters in which we practice shaping coexistence in a pluralistic society on an equal footing. And in this way, we all learn from—and unlearn—different perspectives, experiences, and realities of life.
