KOSMOS is to get its own constitution – not just for a festival, but as a living foundation for the year-round democratic development of urban society in Chemnitz. To ensure that this constitution truly belongs to us and that every voice counts, we need your perspective. Your ideas and your commitment are crucial to turning the festival into a movement that thinks about its future with everyone.
Your opinion counts – the state of democracy today
Before we shape the KOSMOS constitution in the workshop, we want to get a better picture of how people perceive and evaluate democracy in Chemnitz and at KOSMOS today. Take part in our short survey. It is a snapshot of the state of democracy on the very day you visit us. We are not yet collecting ideas for the draft constitution, but want to understand what moves you.

The path to the KOSMOS constitution: the next steps
Your interest is the first step! Here you can find out what happens after the festival and how you can become part of the process:
- Now: Take part in our first survey and register for the lottery! This will allow you to become part of the group from which the KOSMOS workshop will be selected.
- Afterwards: We will contact you to inform you about the exact procedure of the lottery and invite you to participate in a larger survey. The KOSMOS workshop itself will be made up of three groups: randomly selected Chemnitz residents from the population register, voluntary participants from the lottery, and members of our KOSMOS organizing team.
- A little later: Experience the lottery process for the KOSMOS workshop live in the fall. We will show you transparently how the selection is made.
- Fall 2025: Then the big workshop will take place in the KOSMOS workshop, where the first draft of the constitution will be developed.
Together, we will build a KOSMOS that not only celebrates democracy, but lives it!
