Anushka Chkheidze
Electronic music

Born in 1997, the Georgian Anushka Chkheidze is one of the most promising talents well beyond the borders of her country. Raised in the small village of Kharagauli, she began singing in a choir at the age of 11. She describes the time she spent there as magical and believes that her music is strongly influenced by those childhood years. In January 2019, Anushka Chkheidze released her first tracks on the compilation 'Sleepers Poets Scientists', curated by Natalie Beridze, followed by her debut album 'Halfie' in April 2020. Her second album 'Move 20-21', released in February 2021, was created during the pandemic and addresses the absence of physical movement and interaction with others. 'Lost Luggage' was released in 2023 and deals with an obvious theme that, unfortunately, is all too familiar to most of us. In May 2024, the album 'Clean, Clear and White' followed, for which Anuska Chkheidze conducted field recordings as well as piano and choir recordings at the newly renovated research center in Basel, Switzerland.
She is invited to international cross-genre festivals and often collaborates with choirs, leading to a commission from the Swiss-Georgian festival Close Encounters for the highly acclaimed Gori Women's Choir in Georgia. Anushka Chkheidze has already collaborated several times with Berlin musician Robert Lippok, one of her most important mentors, and is currently preparing their first joint release.
