A woman tries to break free from the cycle of domestic violence and financial dependency, faced daily with bureaucratic obstacles and the withdrawal of support services. The new production by the theater collective Pièrre.Vers, directed by Christof Seeger-Zurmühlen and written by Verena Güntner, celebrates its premiere in Chemnitz as part of the European Capital of Culture 2025 program. 'Goldstück' focuses on the alarming trend of right-wing actors and parties attempting to reverse democratic and liberal achievements, exploiting anti-feminist and anti-gender narratives in the process. How to confront this? Telling one's own story seems to be a way out.
