In light of the current social debates surrounding displacement and migration, it is becoming increasingly important to provide young people with a space for dialogue, new perspectives, and critical reflection. Personal encounters can help break down prejudices and make complex issues more tangible.
We at Zeugen der Flucht Leipzig offer interactive 90-minute workshops on the topics of refugee experiences and migration for school classes and other group settings. Our goal is to foster understanding through direct encounters between people with and without refugee experiences and to enable a mindful approach to migration, diversity, and racism.
Our two-part workshop format: 1. Kahoot quiz (a playful exploration of prior knowledge and potential biases) + expert input, and 2. Personal testimony: A refugee shares their story, followed by a Q&A and discussion session.
