Andreas Parnt

Andreas Parnt (M.A.) develops historical and political educational programs at the intersection of contemporary history, media education, and digital learning formats. His focus is on youth cultures in the GDR and during the period of transformation, as well as on the question of how history can be taught to young people in a way that is relevant to their lives, participatory, and forward-looking. In doing so, he combines historical research with creative educational formats and creates approaches that link the past, present, and future.

He currently leads the national OSTBRONX project for NEWKID e.V. Dessau. Through a traveling exhibition, interactive educational formats, and workshops, the project retells the history of hip-hop and youth culture in the GDR. The project centers on freedom, self-organization, cultural identity, and democratic participation. In this way, history is not only preserved but also made tangible as a catalyst for social dialogue and future action.
