Julia Boxler

Julia Boxler is a journalist, speaker, podcaster, curator, and director. She works at the intersection of artistic research and post-migrant discourses, bringing genre-fluid perspectives to her work. In addition, she designs and facilitates programs and workshops.

Born in Kazakhstan in 1986, she moved to Germany in 1996, grew up in Brandenburg, and studied in Dresden, Paris, and Potsdam; she now lives and works in Berlin.

After filming her debut movie *bye bye baby*, she returned to Kazakhstan and worked as an editor at the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations from 2015 to 2017.

Julia is a co-founder of the X3 Podcast and the X3 PostOst Agency gUG and is passionate about post-migrant alliances.

Her portfolio ranges from festivals—such as the Berlinale, Pop-Kultur, and electronic beats, as well as Offspace and Underground series in Dresden—to re:publica and academic conferences, a guest lecturing position at the University of Cologne, and co-creating formats for Arte Tracks and collaborations with the BBC, among others.
