PopBoard NRW

An alliance that spans from the rehearsal room to the main stage: In Germany's most populous state, the PopBoard NRW has formed as a representation of pop music interests - and from the bottom up!

The PopBoard NRW is a child of the COVID-19 pandemic, a severe crisis for pop as well as for all self-employed workers. And crises bring people together, even those who usually enjoy artistic freedom rather than getting lost in statutes. But in the exceptional situation, everyone focuses on the common interest, finding commonalities despite different perspectives: The amateurs and professionals among musicians, the organizers, the labels and distributors, the clubs and stages, especially the women in pop, especially the children and youth in pop, the socio-cultural centers, the pop funding projects, and the music festivals in North Rhine-Westphalia. Nine partners thus form the PopBoard NRW and take on a challenge that extends far beyond the boundaries of the emergency situation.
