POPTICUM

Popticum is a transdisciplinary art and architecture studio. Since 2014, we have been designing temporary, flexible, and interactive spaces that initiate a dialogue between users, space, and urban context. Our interventions celebrate the creative appropriation of public space and question its traditional usage patterns. With an accessible and soft architectural language, we develop ephemeral structures that can be implemented without elaborate planning or administration. They promote social participation, break down barriers, and create new forms of collective experience. Our installations function as stages, retreats, or open meeting points. Depending on the use, transformable spatial situations arise – sometimes a place to linger, sometimes a space for exchange or performance. Semi-transparent elements create visual permeability, while the interior surprises with colors, flowing forms, and a strong visual presence.
