Les Soeurs Doga & Viktor Marek

Afro-Electro

The two singers, Les Soeurs Doga, are sitting next to each other, and the musician Viktor Marek is standing behind them with his hands on their shoulders. They are all wearing something red. They are looking into the camera with a smile.

Haoua and Azera Doga, known as LES SOEURS DOGA, are twin sisters originating from Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The power duo has been active since the early 2000s and impresses with their ability to seamlessly switch between traditional expressions, mostly sung in their native language Mooré, and contemporary, almost rap-like chants. They possess the unique ability to address the most pressing issues of their country such as terrorism or hunger and transform them into uplifting and infectious call-and-response anthems of 100% positivity. Or as the Burkinabe press put it: 'A strong spiritual message combined with festive optimism.' We are very excited to present these outstanding performers and strong African women for the first time in Germany, accompanied by their friend from Hamburg, the beatmaker and sampling wizard extraordinaire VIKTOR MAREK. The globetrotting producer and DJ Marek is CEO of the infamous Golden Pudel Club in St. Pauli and is known for his involvement in projects like The Kings of Dubrock, 8 Doogymoto, and the long-standing duo with the Pakistani sitar virtuoso Ashraf Sharif Khan. A first example of his collaboration with the powerful Doga sisters appeared last year on his solo album 'Mr. Subtitle'.
